I liked the consensus argument it always shut skeptics down.  It also reinforced the weakness of the Global Warming supporters, no one challenged their own doctrine they just marched in lockstep like academics from the middle ages faced with the theories of Galileo.  Sad to see so much wealth wasted and now, in the case of Carbon Tax, stolen.
