Like flies drawn to honey governments and lawyers love a lawsuit with a plaintiff with deep pockets who can be vilified in eyes of the voters.  The stage was set with Big Tobacco and the windfall that the governments received.  The situation remains the same with Big Drugs, the potential settlements are going to be another windfall.  Big Oil represents the golden goose.  Everyone wants to get into Exxon and Chevron's bank accounts.  A lawyer on contingency in this case may never have to work again.  You can't find justice in a state court,  I don't even want to guess about what the punitive damages are going to be if this goes ahead.

These suits, if successful will start the ruin of the economy.
