IPCC, Global Warming or now Climate Change - Scholasticism Vs Scientific Method

Its Sunday, I am sitting on my back deck in Fernie and enjoying the day, I have been reading Dr. Tim Ball's new book The Deliberate Corruption of Climate Science on my Kindle.  Having worked all of my career to date I have been sensitive to the climate discussion and enjoy the thrust and parry of the debate.  My Grandfather always said "no one gets tired of the talking about the weather."  The weather, something that effects all of us and yet with the exception of some cloud seeding efforts is something we can nothing about, is something that we can direct our attention.  My reason for calling the discussion Scholasticism is very simple:  Political objectives have no place in the scientific analysis of the problem being investigated, the climate and the causes of change.  Good science requires ethically sound research rather than ideologically driven research. Bad science destroys the public acceptance of scientific research.  Public policy requires accurate scientific advice not the twisted results of ideologically driven smoke.

Today the NDP, New Democratic Party, the socialist party here in Canada has brought out their new "Climate Change" policy for the next election coming in October, I am going to look at it, it apparently bases on carbon cap and trade, a failed policy as we have seen in Europe but one which will offer new ways for some to make alot of money.  Hmmmm, I think I will start a tree farm.
