Jimmy's POV

A different viewpoint is needed.  I am going to ask my pal Jimmy Vallance to add his voice to this blog.  Jimmy is a stalwart soldier in the war of progressive thinking and will add a POV (point of view) that will prove to be both refreshing and informative.

Jim lives across the road from Lyndy and I in Cokato, just south west of Fernie on the Trans-Canada Trail.  We share a coffee or a beer every weekend and hash out all the local, provincial and federal issues that rise during a typical week.  Conversation at times can be heated.  We hit a low several years ago when we had to stop talking and just play dominoes with each other to remain friends.

I am sending him this invitation to add his voice to this blog.

Slange,

J

Hi:

Re: Democracy in America

Here is a post of an emali forwarded to me by  good friend Ed, have a read....

Undebateable – some might think this is good, some might not.

I know what I think...

     Interesting  observation.

In 1887 Alexander  Tyler, a Scottish history professor at  the University of  Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of  the Athenian  Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is  always temporary  in nature; it simply cannot exist as a  permanent form of  government. A democracy will continue to exist  up until the time  that voters discover that they can vote  themselves generous gifts  from the public treasury. From that moment on,  the majority always  votes for the candidates who promise the most  benefits from the  public treasury, with the result that every  democracy will finally collapse  over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always  followed by a dictatorship."

"The  average age of the world's greatest  civilizations from the
 beginning  of history, has been about 200 years. During  those 200 years,  these nations always progressed through the  following sequence:

From  bondage to spiritual faith;
From  spiritual faith to great courage;
From  courage to liberty;
From  liberty to abundance;
From  abundance to complacency;
From  complacency to apathy;
From  apathy to dependence;
From  dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary  follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It  doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor  Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law  in
St. Paul,  Minnesota, points out some interesting facts  concerning
 the last  Presidential election:

Number  of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square  miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney:  2,427,000
Population  of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney:  143 million
Murder  rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:  Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor  Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the  territory
 Romney  won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying  citizens of the  country.

Obama  territory mostly encompassed those citizens  living in low
 income  tenements and living off various forms of  government welfare..."
Olson  believes the United  States is now  somewhere between the
"complacency and  apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition  of
 democracy, with some  forty percent of the nation's  population already  having reached the "governmental dependency"  phase.

Apathy is the greatest  danger to our
 freedom..

Good Morning:

Cats and dogs have shared my life and I Have enjoyed both though I have to admit I love my Labs the most, Flynn is the love ove my life.  I also remember our cat Kit (Brusnwick Sardine) who was a marvelous beast even though he attacked Lynda twice.  Reading today I found an article that I have to share with you about the intelligence of dogs

Have a look:

There is something about our relationship with dogs that trancended any other animal and this article summarizes what that is the symbiosis between mankind and the dog.

Cheers,

Obama's Greatest Achievement Might Be Destroying the Media

The Decline and Irrelevance of MSM

Obama's Greatest Achievement Might Be Destroying the Media:

'via Blog this'

Good Morning:
Here is a article from Brietbart that looks at the problem of the financial collapse of MSM and the co-relation  of  a sycophantic press and broadcasting industry that nolonger does their classic jobs of reporting and commenting on the news but are more involved in spreading their own ideological point of view.  This lack of critical reporting and analysis does leave them irrelevant to the mean stream readers who once were their customers.

Regards,

J

Why I Brought Piers Morgan That 'Little Book'

For the since the end of the Super Storm and after the Sandy Hook tragedy we have had to watch CNN act as the point-man on the leftest movement to end the 2nd Amendment of United States Constitution.  Piers Morgan is the lead on this issue and as a Brit can act the part of a stranger looking in to political and cultural tradition of the United States.  Have a read of the seminal interview Piers undertook.

hmmmm.
