I have worked with science all of my professional life.  We apply scientific knowledge to prospect for and produce oil and gas for energy.  What we didn't do was worship everything or scientists say, we worked with them and understood them.  They were either good or lousy at what they did, you knew who was lousy and you never thrusted their work.  Scientists are human not Gods to be worshipped.
