It is probably just a result of climate change that cold weather progressed so deep into the US south and the northern Mexico.  What we can see is that without a strong energy base the boutique sources that the urban luddites request just don't cut it as a source of energy.  I note today that the spot price of natural gas at Henry Hub hit $16.13.  That's over a $10 increase in price.

Nice to see some kind of rationality coming back to our institutions.  This issue of re-writing history to suit the current political or ideological environment is indicative of the dumbing down of the our societies.  To the ignorant history is meaningless, politics paramount. The danger is that the twitter generation is not studying anything.  They may be able to edit Wikipedia to suit their current ideology but they can't burn all the books, you know those are the colorful rectangles your parents use to decorate rooms.

Thanks to SmallDeadAnimals for finding this article which sums up the Canadian situation.  We want to be nice wonderful people but we can't live here is we put in place all of our virtue signaling.  There are exceptions such as Vancouver and Vancouver Island and places in the Maritimes, though they have their lousy weather too.  Here is the issue; it's fuc#ing cold outside and it has been cold for the week.  I finally got the water running after it froze up in the cabin, that's how cold it is, -10F/-24C.  Here is what you have to think about, is there enough wood available to keep you through the winter?  Answer, No.  Remember, with out fossil fuel you are going to have to drag your wood with a sled.  Stay warm.  think about your future carbon footprint,
