Here is a great article about the "Beast from the East" a little cold weather for our European freinds.  Byt the way the temperature in Alert NU is -24C, I guess that would make it a tad warm.

No 17: Typewriter of the Day: Adler J5

No. 17: TOTD Adler J5

I bought this machine on eBay from the original owner.  A gentleman living in Minnesota.  He had bought the Adler while in university, used it for his courses and then put it away.  A time capsule.  When it arrived I had Eustace overhaul it and look at the case, I couldn't get it out.  He managed to fix it but to this day it is still a bugger to get the case off.  Two things make this typewriter even more interesting. The type font is gothic as you can see and the case is a suitcase rather then the plastic fitted case.  Anyway here are some pictures.  Enjoy.
