When a concept becomes religious doctrine it takes on a whole new level of power.  It is human nature that we believe in something and Gaia religious doctrine.  Unfortunately, climate and geology have been elevated to the ranks of science over the last 150 years.  Well studied and well understood (don't forget the Permian extinction.)  On the other side of science the vast mass of people  know nothing about the subject other then there is weather and rocks.  It was masterful of the leftist globalists to push their simple Global warming concepts and this agenda of social and political change under the guise of Global Warming to the disconnected agnostic or atheistic masses.  Too bad, like marxism or islamic extremism, nothing good is going to come of this.
