This is true (fact check me).  What President Elect Donald J. Trump represents is a rejection of Globalism and with it as the author terms it "World Socialism 2.0".  There is a disconnect between the elites in politics, media and business in almost every country that has a functioning political system, press and business sector; this would be the Western Hemisphere with Japan, Australia and New Zealand tacked on. I am trying hard to deal with India and where it fits in since it has a democracy but they are just doing their own thing economically and are suffering from the vestiges of Nehru socialism.  Donald Trump and Brexit have brought the voices of the majority to the fore.



 Government is to serve the people, that's a big job and it requires all of their attention.  Governments have to stop trying to conduct social engineering experiments like globalism and open borders or tilting a windmills like Global warming.  To do their jobs well they have to concentrate on the real issues at hand and stop daydreaming about a kumbaya world.

Just back from the Cenotaph down in Central Park here in Calgary Canada.  I joined a couple of thousand citizens in remembering the sacrifices that the fallen members of the Army, Airforce and Navy made to the protection of freedom and our way of life from first the princes and militarists in World War One and the from the rise of fascism in World War Two.  We also have to think about those who gave their lives in the battle against the totalitarian Communist attempt of taking global power.  We are now facing the period of religious intolerance with the rise of islamic terror in the world.  With the world wars we had to mobilize the entire economies of the west to defeat the forces of darkness and post the second world war we have had to harness the means of stemming the pressure of the totalitarian forces that would move us back into the dark ages which also costs blood and treasure which is worth it.

We need to remember that the price of freedom is constant vigilance.  We also need to remember that we cannot be drawn down to the levels of the forces of religious intolerance and savagery.  The price we pay for the good of all is worth it.  Those who paid the price cannot be forgotten.

I have to get back to work but I have to say this Politico article has a point.  Where are the real journalists?  Is it even possible to get a balanced thoughtful Graduate out of a journalism school today.
